K: Last week, I posted this blue lace dress from Cuddy Studios and explained how I was still getting wear out of my summer items. A few of you left a comment stating that it was refreshing to see a true summer outfit, rather than something for fall. It got me thinking about how the blogging world always has to be one step ahead. We're in boots before October, shooting Christmas looks in October or early November, and constantly striving to be one step ahead. The last few weeks, I've been doing the opposite. I'm savoring every last day of summer before my school year gears back up and I have to shift my perspective back to teaching. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited; however, I've come to appreciate each day for what it is instead of always looking ahead.
K: I didn't mean for this picture to come out looking so "picture perfect" and I'm laughing to myself right now because on most days, I feel anything but perfect. You may have noticed that we've been including more posts where it's just me in the photos and I wanted to take a minute to explain why you'll continue to see this.
Brandon is amazing and I cannot sing his praises enough. Truly, this blog would not be here without him. While he is still very much a part of the One Swainky Couple, his schedule isn't always as free as mine, especially in these summer months. Even as we begin fall, we're going to continue to post once a week with just me, showcasing an outfit. I have the time and I love the writing, whereas Brandon's work days are longer and the writing isn't always his most favorite part of the blog. So just a heads up for the future: we're going to start featuring "Katherine" posts on Wednesdays and keeping Monday and Friday as the two of us. And who knows, maybe a "Brandon" post will pop up on a Wednesday every now and then :)
K: This top was gifted by Cuddy Studios and I am obsessed! The subtle print, the lace up tassels, the sheer fabric...everything about this is perfect. I love the versatility of the top because it could easily be dressed down with jeans or tucked into a skirt to create an A-line figure (always my favorite). Since it is a sheer fabric, you'll want to have something appropriate underneath. I'm wearing this white bodysuit but you could do a fun bralette for a date night, or a conservative tank top for work. I linked a few items here that would all work as an undergarment for this top. How would you choose to wear it?
