A Nautical Day at Lake LBJ

K: This past weekend, we went to a nautical bridal shower for my sister Elizabeth and her almost-husband Kevin. We first celebrated their engagement back in February (you can see our post here) but today was exciting because they are less than thirty days away from the wedding! We took a short drive up to Lake LBJ and spent the day by the water with wonderful friends and family. It was such a nice change of pace and the nautical theme of the party plus the gorgeous Spring weather had us wanting to stay the entire weekend.

B: Katherine grew up with a lake house and enjoyed spending time there every weekend of Summer with her family and friends. Likewise, I grew up with a lake house on a separate lake, but did not attend frequently. Although I would consider myself a land lubber, I actually have been aboard watercraft in five of the seven seas, and raced J/22 class sailboats. Regardless of loving water sports or open water, everyone can find something that they enjoy at a lakeside setting; you just need to be around the friends and family that you love.

K: A quick thank you to the amazing families that threw this memorable celebration! Thank you for supporting us and serving as role models in marriage. Also giving a shout out to my sweet cousin who took some of these great photos. You can check out her amazing fashion blog here! Lastly, Elizabeth and Kevin, we love you and can't wait for your wedding day and the future ahead.
