Day Date in the Park

K: We hinted at a story in Wednesday's blog post (you can see it here) and we're excited to share with you how these amazing photos happened serendipitously. Taking pictures of the two of us is always a struggle. Brandon and I are picky with our photography and as a couple blog, we want to make sure that we have plenty of photos of us together. While strolling the fields at Wild Seed Farms, I approached a stranger to snap a few photos of us among the beautiful red poppies.

She happily obliged and after taking a few, requested to take some pictures on her own camera. We agreed and quickly exchanged email addresses so that she could email us the photos. One day later, we received the amazing photos that you saw in Wednesday's post. At the end of the email, she asked if we'd be willing to come to Austin for a few more pictures. Photography is her hobby and she doesn't have a willing subject to practice on. Happily, we obliged, feeling adventurous at the possibility of something great with our newfound friend.

We took a day trip to Austin and could not be happier with the result. This kind woman took so many pictures of Brandon and I and we are so excited to share her work with you! Please enjoy our day date to the park and tune in next week for a few more photos from our little trip.

B: I will make and take any excuse to roll my pant legs up Tom Sawyer style. The Zilker Park water feature aided in this personnel necessity. The granite lined mosaic and chilly chlorinated water made this park attraction the perfect opportunity to cool down from this warm and humid Spring day. After leaving the water feature, we ventured up along a green grassy knoll to take in the picturesque contrast between green span foreground and cityscape backdrop. We were so enamored by the soft supple grass that we left our shoes alone at the water feature base camp. I was okay with this oversight, allowing my pant legs to remain rolled for a as long as possible.

B: Katherine and I have our fare share of Netflix marathons, but we enjoy venturing to places where we can talk and interact. This day was no exception. Zilker Park near downtown Austin let us explore the sights and sounds of the bustling nearby urban center of South Congress while allowing us the space and privacy of a green span. This park borders Town Lake and allows for a nice strolling walk filled with yuppie passerby's and cute puppies to stimulate all varieties of conversation.
